Heading to Shanghai: Let the World See You - Finnish Chinese Association Expands into New Service Areas

Organized by the Shanghai International Talent Exchange Association and hosted by the Chinese-Finnish Friendship Association, the 6th EU-China Innovation and Career Development Forum - Finland Station, concluded successfully at Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences from October 10th to 25th.

The forum and international talent recruitment fair were led by the Director of the Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Commission and Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce. Representatives from more than 30 key universities and renowned enterprises in Shanghai, China, crossed mountains and seas with full sincerity to engage in face-to-face exchanges and cooperation with European high-end talents, making Finland the first stop of this high-end forum.

The Science and Technology Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Finland, Yuan Xudong, attended the event to offer congratulations and deliver a speech.

On the afternoon of October 25th, nearly 100 Finnish and Finnish-Chinese scholars and students gathered in the auditorium of Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences. The atmosphere was warm and lively, with frequent interactions between the stage and the audience. Leaders from the Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Commission introduced talent introduction policies in Shanghai, while representatives from national key universities such as Fudan University and Tongji University, as well as high-tech enterprises in Shanghai, presented specific policies for attracting high-end talents from Europe. The detailed policies, such as obtaining Shanghai hukou (household registration), resolving children's education issues, and addressing family employment, received strong responses from scholars and students. Consultation rooms were bustling with people, and participants were enthusiastic about discussions and negotiations.

The forum and recruitment activities, lasting nearly four hours, were fruitful for both the organizers and participants. The event received high praise, with many scholars and students expressing that participating in such a high-standard forum and recruitment event from a first-tier city in China while in Finland was rare and valuable. Many agreements were signed on-site, and participants found their ideal opportunities.

In the post-pandemic era, high technology is advancing rapidly, and many emerging high-tech fields have become blue oceans attracting global attention, full of challenges and opportunities. China and the world need more smooth and effective communication platforms to connect. Under the leadership of President Li Yanan, the Finnish Chinese Association took the initiative to host this high-end forum, providing an international platform for high-end talents in Finland and high-tech enterprises in China, and earnestly practicing the original intention and purpose of the association to "root in Finland and serve the Chinese community."

The Finnish Chinese Association will continue to forge ahead, providing quality services to the Finnish Chinese community as always. We will continue to unite professional teams and forces from Europe, Finland, and various fields domestically, and strive to build a high-quality platform for comprehensive connectivity between Finland and China, as well as Finland and the world!
